Smart Design Global (SDG) has evolved from the Hong Kong Smart Design Awards (HKSDA) to foster greater innovation and collaboration within the design community. It is organized by the Hong Kong Exporters’ Association and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA), formerly known as Create Hong Kong (CreateHK). Our project will continually adapt to industry changes while fostering economic growth by promoting local products through industrialization and commercialization.
“Hong Kong Innovation & Invention” (Project), organized by the Hong Kong Exporters’ Association (HKEA) and sponsored by the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, is an initiative dedicated to showcasing and promoting Hong Kong’s immense potential in innovation and technology (I&T) to a global audience. The Project aims to facilitate collaboration within the industry and cultivate a vibrant I&T culture among the general public.
Situated at the heart of the Greater Bay Area, Hong Kong boasts remarkable capabilities and a wealth of talented individuals in the field of I&T. By forging stronger connections with the Mainland’s science and technology sector and bridging the Mainland and the world, this Project is poised to seize the opportunities that lie ahead.
The Project will host a range of activities including display exhibitions, delegation trip and student inspiration tours that serve to showcase Hong Kong’s remarkable innovation and technology prowess, foster idea exchange and community engagement, and bolster local awareness and international reputation.
The Asia Exhibition of Innovations and Inventions Hong Kong (AEII) is the Asia’s annual exhibition cum competition exclusively devoted to innovations and inventions from Asia to be hosted in Hong Kong, by partnering with Palexpo, Geneva, organizer of the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva.
Under the innovation-driven development strategy by the Government, Hong Kong aims to enhance its transformation into a knowledge-based economy, by taking the city’s strength as an innovation and technology hub in the Asia-Pacific region as well as its key role in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Out of the Area 86 million population and collective GDP reaching US$1.95 trillion, Hong Kong is the most open and international city, not only for its well-developed finance system, transportation, trade center and aviation hub, but also its renowned professional services. These advantages foster Hong Kong as a hub that provides the infrastructure and talent for innovations and collaborations.
“Hong Kong Smart Design, Sparkle in Greater Bay Area 2022” is a business platform that aims to introduce Hong Kong original design products and design services to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) through a series of Business-to-Business (B2B) trade fairs, business matching sessions with Mainland buyers, and Business-to-Customer (B2C) showcases and pop-up stores to bring new development opportunities for the Hong Kong design industry, export community, manufacturers and SMEs.
